Export Packaging for Pet Beds: Cartons, Packing Rates and Freight

Two listings with the same FOB price can have very different landed cost once packaging and freight are counted. Pet beds are bulky, so the carton and the packing rate decide whether you make money on the shipment.

The numbers that matter

Ask for three things on every quote: unit weight, the packing rate (how many pcs per carton), and the carton dimensions. Together these give you the CBM per carton, which is what ocean freight is charged on. A well-packed bed collapses or rolls down for shipping; a poorly packed one wastes container space.

Why packing rate protects your margin

A bed that packs 12 pcs to a carton is simply cheaper per unit than one that packs 6, even if the product price is identical. This is why we quote the packing rate as a fixed number on every spec sheet — it lets you compare suppliers honestly instead of guessing.

Retail vs export packaging

Blister, retail box or plain polybag changes both unit cost and unpack experience. Custom packaging is an ODM option at 100 pcs. The production numbers are on our about page, and the process on OEM/ODM.
